Family farmed

Since the early 1970s we have been farming our land at this high elevation and sunny climate. This environment helps produce consistently plump kernels with low moisture content, which also give us a fortunate advantage against pests and diseases.

Clean Grain

At Hillside Grain we are committed to growing all natural, clean grain. We practice organic and sustainable farming and never treat our grains with glyphosate or other chemicals, nor do we use any GMO seed.

Stone Milled

Our carefully hand-crafted and custom-made stone mill is central to our milling line. A close replica of the historic French Burr millstones, our stone mill, together with state-of-the-art sifters and a roller mill, allow us to produce high extraction flours. High extraction flours retain germ and bran preserving the flavor and nutritional value inherent in our clean grain.

Fresh Flour

We do not use any additives, enrichment, bleach, or bromate. Instead, we retain germ and bran—the best stuff for flavor and nutritional value. Because we have not removed all of the germ and bran we consider our flour semi-perishable. Freshness and purity is fundamental to our flour. And the added bonus is that fresh tastes fantastic!
